Ian
Gillan - Live In Anahiem
(Thompson Music/MPI/Edel Entertainment - 2008)
A cracking concert from Ian Gillan
that I previously reviewed when in CD format - so if you wanna know all about
the song highlights then go to the CD review - Ok, ok - some of the highlights
include faves like 'No Laughing In Heaven'; 'Bluesy Blue Sea'; 'Men Of War';
'Moonshine'; 'Sugar Plum' and 'Knocking At Your Back Door'.
Visually it's a great watch - especially some of the gurns from Ian when he
screams the high notes or what about the hot bikini chicks that come on the
stage at various intervals with the titles of the songs that are to be played
next.
The House Of Blues was good that night and the audience seem to be having
a great time too. A funny part of the show is when Ian introduces his Dad
who is actually Deep Purple's Tour Manager who is actually a big black geezer.
As well as the gig you get extras such as the Tour footage entitled 'Tour
Of The Road' and an Interview with Ian Gillan entitled 'The Ten Commandments'.
