The Cult – New York City
(Live at the Fillmore New York City 11/11/2006)
(2007)

Being a big fan of The Cult, seeing them on stage is like watching your favourite football team win the football league or even the FA cup. But what I am going to say is that this concert should have been done in their home country the UK, where I believe they would have had a better response.

The DVD is 90 minutes long with 17 tracks ranging from ‘Lil’ Devil’, through ‘The Witch’, ‘Edie (Ciao Baby) – acoustic’, into ‘Fire Woman’, ‘Wild Flower’ to finish with their signature ‘She Sells Sanctuary’.

The only thing that let this DVD down was the fact the crowd struggled to get involved or even understand what The Cult are about. There were a couple of times when Ian was taking the piss out of them and I don’t think they got it.

One point of the DVD Ian said do you know what the hat means, do you know why the hat is back, and there was no response. Ian had to explain the hat is back because The Cult are back.

Overall it’s a very enjoyable DVD but with some DVD’s you feel as though the crowd is missing and the ambience and passion seem to be missing, whether the sound quality was too clinical, I don’t know?
